Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, particularly with orthopedic populations and PACU experience, along with necessary certifications.

Location: Centennial, CO

Number of Beds: 17 Pre/Post bays

Staffing: 3 Full-Time staff, 1 Part-Time staff

Patient Ratios:

• PreOp: 1:2
• PACU Phase 1: 1:1
• PACU Phase 2: 1:2

Type of Equipment: Stretchers, EKG, Blood Glucose monitors, Blood Pressure monitors, Pyxis machines

Electronic Medical Records: Meditech

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients undergoing various surgical procedures, primarily total joint, sports medicine, and general surgeries.
• Monitor and assess patient's condition during the recovery phase.
• Administer medications and assist with pain management.
• Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and instructions.

Qualifications:

• Required:
• Minimum of 1 year current PACU experience with orthopedic patients.
• PACU call experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Preferred:
• Knowledge of physical and occupational therapy instructions for joint patients.
• Comfortable with bedside teaching.
