Registered Nurse - PACU

$1836.00/week –

Job Summary:
Provide specialized postoperative care to patients recovering from surgery in a fast-paced PACU environment. Ensure patient stability, monitor vital signs, and facilitate smooth transitions from anesthesia to discharge or transfer.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition continuously, monitoring vital signs and other clinical parameters.
• Administer medications and interventions as per physician orders and clinical protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient recovery and safety.
• Document patient status, treatments, and interventions accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Respond quickly to any adverse events or emergencies, providing appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and family members on post-operative care and discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with at least 1 year of current PACU experience, specifically with orthopedic patient populations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in PACU procedures, including total joint, sports medicine, hand, and nerve cases.
• Possess BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Exhibit strong bedside teaching skills and knowledge of PT/OT instructions for joint patients.
• Show flexibility, dependability, and a team-oriented attitude.
• Experience working with EMR systems, such as Meditech, is preferred.
