Staff Geologist

Staff Geologist – Nashville, TN The Staff Geologist will assist with a variety of geological and scientific projects across Tennessee and other U.S. locations, working under the direct supervision of experienced professionals. The role involves field sampling, data analysis, technical writing, and client communication. Key Responsibilities Complete scientific analysis under direct supervision. Assist in developing project document deliverable outlines, technical reports, data interpretation, permits, and graphical presentations. Conduct field inspections, reconnaissance, and sampling activities per regulatory standards. Develop and strengthen technical capabilities within a selected area of expertise. Collect, QA/QC, and report field data, synthesizing results for analysis. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant regulatory standards. Coordinate with technical staff and assist in client contact related to projects. Track project hours and manage time to meet assigned deadlines and budgets. Communicate potential issues to the Project Manager and propose solutions. Maintain confidentiality of all project information. Exercise safe work practices, attend required safety training, and comply with OSHA regulations. Participate in continuous improvement programs and support team efforts. Keep current on industry trends through formal training and professional literature. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science (preferably Geology) or related field. No formal work experience required; a relevant internship or 1–2 years of entry‑level experience preferred. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel. Ability to obtain a security clearance for federal installations. Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical ability to conduct field work on varied terrain, including exposure to inclement weather. Salary and Benefits Annual salary range: $60,000 to $75,000, plus an annual bonus based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
