Temporary People Experience Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Temporary People Experience Specialist based in the United States.

This role supports a fast-paced People Experience function delivering high-quality HR services across the employee lifecycle.
You will take ownership of onboarding, HR administration, employee records, and day-to-day team member support.
The position also provides exposure to benefits, payroll, learning and development, recruiting, and employee relations.
You will work closely with People leaders and cross-functional partners to keep HR processes accurate, compliant, and employee-focused.
Your work will help ensure a smooth experience for employees from onboarding through offboarding.
This is a hands-on, high-volume opportunity suited to someone who is organized, analytical, responsive, and comfortable managing competing priorities.
The assignment is expected to last approximately six months, with potential to convert to a full-time opportunity.

• Manage employee onboarding and orientation: Lead the onboarding experience for new hires, ensuring required steps are completed and employees understand relevant policies, practices, and processes.
• Support pre-employment processes: Conduct background screenings and coordinate required pre-employment communications while ensuring compliance with applicable state and local requirements.
• Manage employee lifecycle transactions: Accurately process HRIS updates related to hires, promotions, transfers, leaves, and terminations, while maintaining complete and current employee records.
• Administer HR documentation and records: Track, audit, and report on HR documentation related to onboarding, offboarding, performance management, exit interviews, and other employee processes.
• Support employee inquiries: Monitor HR-related inboxes, respond to questions from employees at all levels, and provide timely, professional, and service-oriented support.
• Handle employee feedback and separations: Conduct exit interviews, analyze feedback from multiple sources, and prepare insights for HR leadership to support informed people decisions.
• Assist with unemployment claims: Draft responses, prepare appeals, gather supporting documentation, and help prepare employees or organizational representatives for hearings when required.
• Manage employment eligibility: Administer the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification process in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Support employee relations: Partner with People Experience leaders to assist with employee relations matters, investigations, resolutions, and related documentation.
• Support performance and compensation cycles: Contribute to performance review and merit increase processes, ensuring activities and documentation are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Coordinate business travel and events: Support business travel requests and expense accuracy, as well as company events, staff meetings, management gatherings, and employee engagement activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with Payroll, Benefits, Learning & Development, IT, Legal, and other teams to resolve employee needs and ensure smooth HR operations.
• Contribute to special projects: Take on assignments outside the core scope of the role and support People Experience Partners and Directors on projects that strengthen the overall employee experience.

Requirements

• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in HR Operations or a related human resources function, ideally in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
• HR systems: Experience working with HRIS platforms is required; familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
• Technical skills: Intermediate Excel skills, strong computer proficiency, and the ability to navigate and work across multiple systems simultaneously.
• HR operations knowledge: Understanding of employee lifecycle processes, onboarding, offboarding, employment eligibility, HR documentation, and related compliance requirements.
• Analytical ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review information, identify issues, and support practical solutions.
• Organization: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, professional, and empathetic support to employees and stakeholders.
• Professional judgment: Ability to remain calm and professional during sensitive or difficult employee conversations while handling confidential information appropriately.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing priorities, accepting constructive feedback, and maintaining consistently high performance.
• Reliability: Strong punctuality, follow-through, and commitment to dependable day-to-day execution.
• Availability: Ability to work full-time; overtime eligibility may apply depending on classification.
