Make an immediate impact supporting students as a dedicated contract Physical Therapist Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. This urgent backfill assignment offers the opportunity to work with a respected educational collaborative, serving a small caseload in a supportive school environment. With a commitment that spans from now through June 21, 2027, you'll play a crucial role in helping students reach their physical therapy goals.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Massachusetts licensure required
- Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, particularly in school-based settings, highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to various student needs and ages
- Excellent documentation and time management skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy sessions to students according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and therapy interventions
- Work collaboratively with licensed physical therapists, special educators, and school personnel
- Support students' motor development and participation in educational activities
- Communicate regularly with parents and faculty regarding student achievements and therapy strategies
- Adhere to all district, state, and federal regulations pertaining to school-based therapy services
