Principal Software Engineer - VoIP

Salary: $120,000 - 165,000 per year Requirements:

• Were looking for a Principal (Senior) Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience developing and supporting real-time voice and video communication systems.
• You should bring deep, hands-on expertise with SIP and related telecommunications protocols.
• You need strong experience building and operating VoIP platforms in production environments.
• You should have production-level experience with Kamailio or FreeSWITCH.
• You need experience developing backend services with .NET or Node.js/TypeScript.
• You should be able to troubleshoot complex network, signaling, and media delivery issues.
• Preferred: experience building call-routing logic and automation with LUA.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with WebRTC, STUN/TURN, and browser-based audio/video communication.
• Preferred: familiarity with Asterisk platforms and deployments.
• Preferred: strong ANSI C knowledge for low-level debugging, media processing, and infrastructure optimization.
• Preferred: advanced proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript.

• We will have you architect and evolve the core audio and video communication infrastructure for our Connected Care ecosystem.
• You will design and operate highly available SIP routing platforms that support real-time communications at scale.
• You will scale and optimize media servers, Session Border Controllers (SBCs), and signaling environments to improve reliability and performance.
• You will build intelligent, low-latency call routing solutions that create seamless communication experiences.
• You will partner with software engineering teams to integrate voice and video capabilities into modern applications and services.
• You will investigate and resolve complex real-time communication issues, including media quality, packet loss, latency, and network performance.
• You will drive technical strategy and define engineering best practices for voice and video infrastructure.
• You will mentor engineers across the organization and act as a subject matter expert in telecom and real-time communications technologies.
