Starting Pay Range$24.00 - $26.00 - HourlyDepending on experienceJob Description:At Hawkeye we help navigate participants through the employment process and build strong relationships with the business community to match skills with purpose.Our primary focus is to address the skills gap by purposefully matching local employers with a prepared, trained, and skilled local workforce. Hawkeye serves as a liaison between opportunity youth with multiple barriers and businesses/employers. Hawkeye’s network provides education, training, work experience and job placement services. Hawkeye’s workforce programs empower youth participants to be engaged, contributing members of the workforce and community.The Career Coach oversees a caseload of assigned clients and delivers individualized services to ensure participants receive the necessary support to reach their employment or educational goals. With sensitivity to individual needs, the Career Coach delivers employment services including effective training and support, referring clients to outside resources and agencies as appropriate. This position supports clients in job search assistance and works with local companies to identify employment opportunities and support employment retention services to participants.You will work at the Ontario location at 3130 Inland Empire Blvd., Suite A, Ontario, CA 91764You work Schedule:Monday: In Office, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)Tuesday: In Office, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)Wednesday: In Office, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)Thursday: Remote, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)Friday: In Office, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)What you will be required to do:Develop and guide job seekers through the preparation of Individual Employment Plans (IEP) based on their career and educational goals.Research and identify potential employers regarding job opportunities or work experience opportunities aligned with client caseload needs.Utilize both internal and external job boards and interface with administrative personnel to ensure the internal job board is updated.Participate in on-site job fairs and mass interviewing and/or hiring activities; participates on Job Search work teams and job clubs; may facilitate job clubs independently or with BDP.Provide career coaching and case management services to clients including tracking the clients’ progress in training and job search activities.Outreach and collaborate with external partners to develop job leads and job orders to meet the needs of job seekers and employers.Assess jobseeker’s employment and training needs and skills through interviewing, testing and other strategies.Research, evaluate, and maintain partnerships with training providers for both vocational and remedial trainingConduct orientation sessions, workshops, and other group presentations that prepare job seekers for real-life business needs and expectations.Maintain accurate individual case files for each client and meet compliance requirements with all policies and procedures.This position requires local travel extensively (> 50% of the time) a valid CA driver's license and state-required auto insurance required.What you must have to be successful will include:Strong service-orientation and interpersonal skills; develops rapport and works successfully with a diverse population of clients, co-workers, potential employers, and other external agenciesCritical thinking, self-motivation and a high degree of integrity and ethics are essential.Ability to work independently and within a team, to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.Excellent customer relations skills, ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data appropriately.Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office including word and excel.Ability to travel and to work flexible hours.Education and Experience:Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required.BA/BS degree preferred.2-3 years of experience in social services, coaching, job development or related fields with an employment focus.Non-profit experience preferred.Spanish/English bilingual preferred.Knowledge of CalJobs and quality control process preferred.*The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all inclusive.
