Assistant Coach

Corona-Norco is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Assistant Coach. Knowledge of/Ability to: Demonstrate successful coaching for the specific sport for which applying. Demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques, as well as the advanced techniques needed for competitive athletes. Demonstrate personality and character traits appropriate to educational leadership. Demonstrate organizational skills. Maintain CPR/AED/First Aid and coaching certifications.

Responsibilities: Serve as an instructor and guide. Follow District policies, site procedures, and CIF rules and procedures. Foster training in conduct, ethics, and sportsmanship for participants. Assist participants in the development of physical and leadership skills. Work closely with the assigned Head Coach to implement activities and tryouts that ensure equal opportunities for all students. Ensure that the selection process is fair, consistent and impartial. Supervision of team before, during, and after practices, games, and sporting events. Verify each team member is cleared by the Athletic Director before allowing them to try out or practice. Manage a safe and organized process of storage for equipment on campus. Maintain open communication with Head Coach.

Requirements / Qualifications: The following must be submitted with an application for interview consideration: (1) High School Diploma, GED, Foreign Evaluation, Diploma of College degree, or Official Transcripts (2) Coaching Education Course (e.g., Fundamentals of Coaching Education or other CIF-approved equivalent) (3) Complete Application A. Employment History must include the most recent prior coaching experience: employer, dates, supervisor, phone, and your job title (If you do not have prior paid experience, you may include volunteer work.) Preferred Experience: High school varsity level, college playing, and/or coaching experience in the specific sport for which applying.
