Smoky Ridge Health & Rehab is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team of healthcare professionals. As an OT at Smoky Ridge, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and confidence in their daily lives.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for designing and implementing individualized treatment plans to maximize the functional abilities of patients in a variety of settings, including skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers. The OT will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of each patient.

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients to identify physical, emotional, and social needs

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address patient specific goals and needs

• Provide occupational therapy services to patients, including but not limited to:

  • Upper extremity injury, trauma, dysfunction, and pre/post surgical rehab

  • Maximizing independence with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating

  • Training patients and families in the use of specialized equipment

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans that address patient specific goals and needs

• Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient progress and treatment plans

• Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy

Occupational Therapist Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

• Current licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly

• Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients as needed
