Security Coordination Manager
U.S. House of Representative
The incumbent is responsible for the development, coordination, and oversight of security initiatives related to the House. This role ensures the successful execution of security programs by effectively assigning resources, coordinating teams, and managing projects to completion in a timely manner. The incumbent manages coordination of security protocols and programs related to Members of Congress, their families, Congressional offices, and staff. Decision Making – Skill in making sound, well-informed, and objective decisions, taking into consideration the potential impact and implications of the decisions. Ability to commit to action even in uncertain situations. Organizational Awareness – Knowledge of the structure, functions, and dynamics present within the U.S. House of Representatives and the Office of the Sergeant at Arms. Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures that govern the organization. Knowledge of how the Sergeant at Arms fits within the broader context of Federal agencies and how it contributes to government functioning. Planning and Coordination – Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements. Ability to determine short-term or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them. Ability to coordinate with others to accomplish goals. Skill in monitoring progress in relation to desired outcomes. Problem Solving – Ability to identify problems; skill in determining accuracy and relevance of information. Ability to use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, develop effective solutions, and make recommendations.
LEADERSHIP
Performance Management – Knowledge of performance management concepts, principles, and practices related to planning, monitoring, rating, and rewarding staff performance. Ability to coach and mentor staff and teams to help them reach their highest potential. Knowledge of employee development concepts and principles to effectively support staff career growth. Stakeholder Management – Knowledge of the concepts, practices, and techniques used to identify, engage, influence, and monitor relationships with individuals and groups connected to the U.S. House of Representatives and the Sergeant at Arms. Other Significant Factors Job requires on-call support. Job requires occasional travel. Job may be required to report to work in all conditions. Job may require various shifts, extended hours, or weekends.
