Grants Officer-Philanthropy

Shared Services: Philanthropy Grants & Operations (Full-Time, Day Shift) - Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The Grants Officer is responsible for securing grants and gifts from private foundations and other organizations in fulfillment of the organization's strategic plans. Performs other duties as needed. Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, or a related field required. Master’s Degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred. Minimum three years of relevant experience in fundraising (grant fundraising preferred), marketing, public relations, business or related field required. Valid drivers license required at time of hire, CFRE preferred. Keyboard, mouse, calculator, fax, copy machine, phone usage. Ability to input data/information into computer and the ability to speak clearly. Good communication skills with both individuals and groups are necessary in the development of long term personal contacts with prospects, donors and other individuals. Strong written and verbal presentation skills as well as strong organizational skills. Self starter. Requires human relations and interpersonal skills in order to demonstrate an outgoing, tactful, congenial, sensitive response to needs of others. Ability to initiate, develop and maintain long term relationships with donors and prospects. Ability to listen and understand key aspects of a donor or prospective donor conversation to identify needs and find solutions that satisfy donor passions and institutional needs. Must possess the ability to manage complex tasks and meet deadlines. Must be entrepreneurial, perceptive, have good independent judgment and have abilities to analyze, assess/evaluate, explain/teach and problem solve. Calculations, manipulating numbers, interpreting numbers, attention to detail, memory, problem solving and reasoning are also important. Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision but have the ability to take instruction. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external constituents. Able to distinguish colors, hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch. #J-18808-Ljbffr Loma Linda Unv Shared Services
