Key Responsibilities \n
\n
\nClinical Duties\n
\n
\n•    Deliver high-quality primary pediatric care during scheduled and walk-in visits.\n
\n•    Perform thorough physical exams to monitor growth, development, and overall health.\n
\n•    Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric conditions, including both acute illnesses and chronic diseases.\n
\n•    Administer immunizations and counsel families on vaccine schedules and preventive care.\n
\n•    Provide health guidance on topics such as nutrition, physical activity, mental health, sleep, and behavioral issues.\n
\n•    Coordinate care for children with complex medical or psychosocial needs, referring to specialists as appropriate.\n
\n•    Provide emergency and urgent care as needed, including first aid and stabilization.\n
\n•    Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and compliant patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.\n
\n•    Accurately code and bill for services and follow administrative guidelines.\n
\n•    Comply with clinic regulations and standards for prescribing, charting, lab follow-up, and referrals.\n
\n
Teaching & Mentorship \n
\n
\n•    Supervise and mentor pediatric residents from Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital during continuity and ambulatory rotations.\n
\n•    Participate in clinical teaching, bedside education, and case-based learning with residents.\n
\n•    Assist with curriculum delivery and evaluation of residents' clinical performance.\n
\n•    Serve as a role model for evidence-based, compassionate, and culturally responsive pediatric care.\n
\n
Administrative & Collaborative Responsibilities \n
\n
\n•    Meet or exceed clinical productivity benchmarks and participate in quality improvement initiatives.\n
\n•    Attend required staff meetings, teaching conferences, and quality improvement activities.\n
\n•    Notify the Chief Medical Officer promptly of any changes to licensure, DEA status, hospital privileges, or legal matters.\n
\n•    Consult with the Chief Medical Officer on complex clinical cases and interpretation of clinic protocols.\n

Qualifications \n
\n
Education & Licensure \n
\n
\n•    Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.\n
\n•    Valid California medical license and DEA registration.\n
\n•    Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics.\n
\n
Experience \n
\n
\n•    Experience providing pediatric primary care (experience with underserved or community health center populations preferred).\n
\n•    Prior experience in teaching, supervision, or mentoring of medical trainees strongly preferred.\n
\n•    Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.\n
\n
