About the Position
Job Title: Cath Lab RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 3 years in cardiac Cath lab License: RN state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI (on-site during orientation) Must-Have: 3 years of experience in cardiac Cath lab is required. First-time travelers with a proven background of 3 years in cardiac Cath lab will be accepted. Description: Cath Lab RN for a day shift (07:00 - 17:30) with on-call responsibilities. Will involve one scheduled late shift per week to accommodate cases that run over. Average daily census is between 7-14 cases. Facility has 2 Cath Lab rooms. Patient diagnoses include Acute Coronary Syndrome, CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, AFIB, and Bradycardia. Procedures performed include Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Pacemaker placements, Loop monitors, TEE, and Cardioversions. Equipment used includes Balloon Pump and IVUS. Available scrubs are royal blue. On-call shifts require a response time of 30 minutes from the facility. Scheduled on-call shifts run from 17:30 to 07:00 on weekdays, and 07:00 to 07:00 on weekends and holidays. Approximately 10-13 on-call shifts are required per month. Weekend shifts may be required based on departmental needs and on-call schedule. Holidays may also be required as scheduled. Floating to pre-op/PACU within the specialty unit is necessary as needed. A patient ratio of 1:1 is expected. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Specialized skills required include monitoring procedural sedation, performing invasive procedures, and managing cardiac devices. Compliance with infection prevention protocols is essential. Travelers are required to complete onboarding within specified timeframes. Strong clinical skills in cardiology nursing are necessary, along with the ability to float as needed.
