Job Description
TITLE
Registered Nurse - Oncology

SCHEDULE
- Shift options: 12-hour Day/Night rotating or 12-hour Night shifts
- Rotation review: Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
- Weekend coverage: Variable based on unit needs

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
- Daily census: ~33 patients in a 36-bed/room unit

REQUIREMENTS
- License: Valid RN license
- Certifications: BLS, Oncology Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC)
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years, including at least 1 year of current inpatient hematology/oncology experience within the most recent 3 years
- EMR: Epic required

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with hematology/oncology diagnoses, including leukemias and lymphomas.
- Administer chemotherapy and manage side effects, ensuring proper handling of body fluids post-chemotherapy.
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to critical changes in patient conditions.
- Care for central lines, including sterile dressing changes and blood draws, as well as care for feeding tubes and oxygen delivery systems.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including pharmacy and social work, to support patients' needs and treatment plans.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Vaccinations: Flu vaccine required, medical exemptions only; COVID-19 vaccine not required.
- Ohio-specific credentialing: Strict fingerprinting deadline; fingerprints must be completed urgently after booking.
- References: Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or director.
