Hem Saw Operator - 1st Shift

Job Summary The Saw Operator will set up and inspect equipment, install blades, measure the length to cut to specifications, and operate the machines. The Saw Operator will load raw material into the equipment in a safe and proper manner to achieve the sawing process. The Saw Operator will off‑load the completed material and inspect its features using various measuring devices, recording the measurement results on the project paperwork. Duties / Responsibilities Run a metal cutting saw Clean a metal cutting saw Required Skills / Abilities One or more years using a metal cutting saw Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform precise measurements using a tape measure Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement Excellent attendance and a positive "can do" attitude Previous experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment is a plus One or more years of painting experience is a plus Education and Experience High School diploma or GED required Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, or hear for 1 to 10 hours a day. The employee frequently uses hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee often walks, squats/kneels, bends/stoops, twists/turns, and grasps and reaches overhead and outward. The employee is required to lift boxes and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a 55–90°F environment. Work in a fast‑paced industrial environment wearing vision protection, hearing protection, steel‑toed shoes, and other appropriate protective clothing.
