Work Environment

This position operates in an onsite setting where you will visit patients in their homes, ensuring they receive the highest standard of physical therapy services within the comfort of their familiar surroundings. Work hours are Monday through Friday, allowing for a structured yet flexible schedule that promotes work-life balance. As a key team member, you will collaborate closely with fellow healthcare professionals, including physicians, nursing staff, and physical therapy assistants, to provide comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical functions through diagnostic assessments, tailoring treatment plans to address their unique conditions and orthopedic needs.
• Develop and implement targeted therapy interventions to prevent disability, alleviate pain, and improve mobility and muscle function in alignment with prescribed care plans.
• Oversee the performance of physical therapy assistants, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and providing guidance during therapy sessions.
• Administer manual and non-manual therapeutic exercises tailored to patient capabilities, instructing clients in functional activities that enhance their daily living skills.
• Utilize modalities such as traction, massage, and physical agents in treatments to facilitate recovery.
• Evaluate the home environment for safety and suggest modifications that promote patient independence and reduce the risk of falls.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to relevant regulations and agency policies.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to share insights and collaborate on comprehensive care plans for patients.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding therapeutic techniques, equipment use, and lifestyle modifications to support ongoing health improvements.
• Maintain clear communication with physicians and case managers regarding any changes in patients' conditions or responses to therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with orthopedic patients ranging from post-surgical recovery to chronic pain management. Many of your clients will include elderly individuals seeking enhanced mobility and independence, as well as individuals recovering from sports injuries or accidents. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring effective rehabilitation, which is critical for returning patients to their daily routines and improving overall life satisfaction.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required, along with a valid Florida license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• A strong foundational knowledge and expertise in orthopedic conditions, including an understanding of manual therapy techniques.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a home environment while managing time effectively and prioritizing patient needs.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse patient populations, families, and members of the healthcare team.
• All candidates must demonstrate a clean professional record with no disciplinary actions against their license.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in home health care or outpatient orthopedic therapy settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation processes is a significant plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt treatment strategies based on patient feedback and functional assessments.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
