General Summary The Director of Community Living & Learning Engagement is a full‑time, live‑in professional responsible for leading a dynamic residential experience that integrates community living, academic engagement, and holistic student development. As a key member of Residence Life, this role advances institutional priorities related to student retention, persistence, and success. The position supports the College’s goal of achieving and sustaining an 85% first‑year retention rate. Essential Job Functions Develop and implement a community living and learning framework aligned with retention and student success goals. Collaborate within the Student Success Hub to support early alert and intervention strategies. Provide mentorship, leadership development, and engagement opportunities for residential students. Supervise and train Resident Assistants as peer educators and leaders. Promote community standards using a developmental and restorative approach. Oversee residential operations including occupancy, safety, and facilities coordination. Participate in on‑call rotation and support campus‑wide initiatives. Performance Metrics and Accountability Contribute to achieving the institutional 85% first‑year retention goal. Maintain 90% or higher term‑to‑term persistence among residential students. Ensure 90% participation in residential programs. Achieve 85% or higher student satisfaction rates. Provide outreach to 100% of at‑risk students within 72 hours. Increase academic support utilization by at least 15% annually. Housing Response and Resolution Metrics Ensure initial response to all housing concerns within 24 hours (business days). Achieve 90–95% on‑time response rate to submitted housing concerns (maintenance, safety, student issues). Ensure resolution or clear action plan communicated within 48–72 hours for standard concerns. Maintain 100% documentation and tracking of all housing‑related concerns in the designated system. Achieve 85% or higher student satisfaction related to responsiveness and issue resolution in housing surveys. Conduct monthly analysis of housing concern trends to inform proactive improvements in community living environments. Education and Experience Required: Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required with 3+ years relevant experience. Experience in residence life, student success, or student affairs. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Preferred: Experience in Student Success Hub or integrated support model. Background in living‑learning communities.
