Job Title: Senior Trusts & Estates Litigation Paralegal

We're working with an established trusts and estates practice seeking a Senior Trusts & Estates Litigation Paralegal for its El Segundo office.

This is a senior-level, litigation-focused position supporting attorneys handling contested trusts, estates, and probate matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial hands-on experience with trusts and estates litigation and/or contested probate matters .

Experience with estate planning and trust administration is highly valued, but substantive litigation experience is the primary focus of this position .

This is a hybrid opportunity with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote .

What You'll Be Doing

• Support attorneys throughout contested trust, estate, and probate matters.
• Manage discovery, subpoenas, document production, and case deadlines.
• Assist with pleadings, motions, court filings, and calendaring.
• Support depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Communicate with clients, counsel, courts, experts, and other parties as needed.
• Take ownership of matters and help keep cases moving efficiently.
• Depending on experience, provide guidance and mentorship to other paralegal team members.

Ideal Background

• Significant experience handling trusts & estates litigation and/or contested probate matters .
• 10+ years of paralegal experience preferred.
• Experience with trust contests, will contests, beneficiary disputes, fiduciary disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, or similar contested matters is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, deadlines, and court filings.
• Able to work independently and directly with senior attorneys and partners.
• Strong organization, communication, and case management skills.

Additional Experience We'd Value

Experience with traditional trusts and estates work is a plus, including:

• Estate planning
• Trust administration
• Post-death trust administration
• Estate planning documents and trust amendments
• Deeds
• Beneficiary notices
• Trustee certifications

This position is litigation-focused. Candidates whose experience is primarily estate planning or trust administration should also have meaningful experience with contested trusts, estates, or probate matters.

Billable Requirement

Approximately 1,500 billable hours annually .

Compensation

Total annual compensation is budgeted at $100,000–$115,000, including bonuses , depending on experience and overall fit.

Eligible paralegals may earn quarterly performance bonuses based on meeting the firm's billable-hour requirements.
