Job Description

What You’ll Do

In this veterinary receptionist role, you’ll help keep the hospital running smoothly while providing exceptional customer service. Your responsibilities will include:

• Greeting and welcoming veterinary clients and their pets
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting reception area
• Answering phones, emails, and client questions and directing concerns to the appropriate team member
• Helping triage client concerns and determine the appropriate next steps
• Scheduling veterinary appointments to support an efficient daily workflow
• Checking clients in and out and accurately processing payments
• Communicating veterinary services, instructions, and information clearly and compassionately
• Providing emotional support to clients during difficult or stressful medical situations
• Working closely with the veterinary team to help create a positive client and patient experience

The ideal Veterinarian Receptionist understands that veterinary medicine can bring both exciting and emotional moments. You’ll need to be comfortable discussing a variety of medical outcomes while remaining compassionate, calm, professional, and discreet.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Veterinarian Receptionist who is organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a busy veterinary environment. You’ll be a great fit if you’re a strong communicator who enjoys helping people and working alongside a collaborative team.

We’d love to meet you if you have:

• At least 1 year of veterinary receptionist or veterinary experience preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• A compassionate, calm, and team-oriented approach
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Computer skills and comfort learning veterinary software and technology
• A self-starter mindset and desire to continue developing your skills
• The ability to remain professional and supportive during emotional client interactions

This position requires the ability to work around unpleasant odors and noises and may involve exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.
