BR&E is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to perform a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping duties for a group of diverse family-owned businesses in the Bryan, Texas area. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Responsibilities

• Prepare and review general ledger transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly journal entries
• Assist with the preparation of supporting schedules for federal and state tax returns
• Assist with business expense analysis and cost-cutting initiatives
• Prepare monthly financial reports for internal use
• Monitor and reconcile credit card balances
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Provide clerical and administrative support for special projects and other duties as assigned

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
