Role Description The General Manager in Training role is a full-time, on-site position located in Fond du Lac, WI. This role prepares individuals to oversee daily operations at a Love’s Travel Stop, including managing store and restaurant activities, ensuring cleanliness and safety, and delivering excellent customer service. The General Manager in Training supports hiring, scheduling, coaching, and performance management of team members while helping to foster an inclusive and respectful workplace. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory, controlling costs, supporting sales and promotional initiatives, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations. The individual in this role works closely with experienced leaders, participates in structured training programs, and gradually assumes greater responsibility for financial results and operational performance.

• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse customers and team members.
• Basic business and operations knowledge, including budgeting, inventory control, safety practices, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle fast-paced, high-volume environments and resolve issues in real time.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary education in business, management, or a related field is beneficial.
• Retail, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred, especially in supervisory or lead roles.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
