Sr. Lead Electrical Engineer

The Opportunity PAE is seeking a senior Senior Lead Electrical Engineer in our Portland office to drive technical excellence and discipline management across our most complex projects. In this dual-capacity role, you will act as both a technical authority and a strategic team leader, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of electrical systems. You will shape project workplans, mentor staff, and maintain the highest standards in Power Distribution, Lighting, and System Analysis. What You’ll Do Lead the project team and manage discipline, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget Prepare deliverable documents including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications Attend client meetings and coordinate efforts between external and internal project teams Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment from concepts through construction Design electrical system distribution, lighting, and power systems Assemble effective project teams and develop workplans, tasks, and assignments Provide thorough interdisciplinary coordination and oversee engineering calculations and equipment selection Conduct site visits and issue reports Provide training, guidance, and mentorship for staff Update master specifications and standards, and improve company processes Apply distribution Load Flow, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash Energy analysis using Easy Power Develop client relationships and oversee the application of the project quality management plan (QMP) Perform other duties as assigned What You Bring Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline Relevant Professional Credential (e.g., PE) 2–4 years of Electrical Lead experience or 5–10 years of related work experience Ability to inspire and motivate staff and serve as a technical resource for the company Advanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts and effective design communication Strong delegation and organizational skills with attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Revit/AutoCAD, and Easy Power What We Offer Hiring base salary range: $102,600–$126,800 per year Eligible for time and a half overtime pay Competitive benefits package including employer‑paid health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) profit sharing, professional development reimbursements, commuter/parking stipend, cell phone stipend, life insurance, disability benefits, hybrid work schedule, employee assistance program, 9 paid holidays plus an additional employee‑selected day, paid time off for sick leave, family leave, community service, holidays, and vacation Annual compensation reviews based on performance and business needs Our Commitment to Pay Equity PAE is a JUST label certified company and demonstrates JUST label requirements within pay equity.
