Together, we create our culture by living our values in our day-to-day interactions with our patients and teammates.Job SummaryThe Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality imaging services. This includes oversight of radiology departments across modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography), physician collaboration, equipment management, regulatory compliance, and team development. The Director ensures alignment with hospital goals and supports continual improvement of clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.Essential FunctionsOversees daily operations of all imaging modalities and locations, including hospital and outpatient sites.Plans and manages department budgets, staffing, scheduling, and capital equipment purchases.Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g. TJC, CMS, DHEC, OSHA) and hospital policies.Develops, reviews, and implements protocols, procedures, and quality initiatives for clinical operations.Ensures adherence to safety and environmental standards, including oversite and support of the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). In some facilities may serve as Radiation Safety Officer.Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support diagnostic services.Supervises hiring, training, performance reviews, and professional development of staff.Conducts service line development, strategic planning, and equipment acquisitions.Monitors quality indicators, patient outcomes, and satisfaction metrics to drive performance improvement.Participates in system-wide initiatives and leadership meetings.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/ExpectationsIn-depth knowledge of diagnostic imaging practices, modalities, and emerging technologies.Strong organizational and leadership skills with ability to manage multi-site operations.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, physicians, and vendors.Ability to lead teams through change and foster a culture of excellence.Proficient with imaging systems, PACS, EMRs, and Microsoft Office Suite.Demonstrates integrity, critical thinking, and initiative.QualificationsEducationPostsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) of an accredited program in radiologic technology or related imaging field (Required) AndBachelor’s Degree in Healthcare (Preferred) AndMaster’s Degree in Healthcare Administration (Preferred)Licenses/CertificationsARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or ARDMS Certification or NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Upon Hire (Required) OrLicensed Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice Upon Hire or within facility-specified time frame (Required) AndBCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire or within facility-specified time frame (Required)Experience5+ years clinical imaging experience (Required) And3+ years imaging leadership/management experience (Required)Job Field: Laboratory/RadiologyOrganization: 0438 - St. Joseph Reg Med CtrShift: Day
