Field Engineer - Heavy Civil Construction

Title: Field Engineer - Heavy Civil Construction
Location: Fort Lauderdale (West Palm Beach acceptable as well)
Salary: $75,000 - $86,000 + Bonus

Founded in 1988, we are a 150+ employee heavy civil contractor specializing in bridge construction, marine construction, site development, roadway improvements, underground utilities, and major public infrastructure projects throughout Florida and the Southeast.

The Field Engineer will support construction operations by coordinating field activities, tracking production, managing project documentation, supporting quality control efforts, and working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure successful project delivery.

What You Will Be Doing

• Support daily field operations on heavy civil and infrastructure projects
• Track quantities, production rates, field progress, and project documentation
• Coordinate inspections, testing, quality control activities, and survey operations
• Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and construction documents
• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with scheduling, reporting, and project closeout

What You Need for This Position

• 2+ years of construction, field engineering, civil engineering, or heavy civil project experience
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• Experience reading construction drawings, specifications, grading plans, and utility plans
• Familiarity with site development, earthwork, utilities, concrete, roadway, bridge, or infrastructure construction
• Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera P6, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar construction software preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a desire to grow into Project Management or field leadership
