The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

What You Will Do in This Role:

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician
• Administer medical gases, aerosol therapy, obtain and analyze blood specimens, perform patient testing, operate and maintain various types of respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment, provide mechanical ventilation, maintain artificial airways, assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, provide patient education, monitor equipment and patient response to therapy
• Complete documentation of in-patient and departmental records, clean equipment, and maintain safety and infection control practices

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required
• Must hold a current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care
• NBRC RRT
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS preferred upon hire
• ACLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire
• One year of recent clinical experience preferred
