Nurse Assistant

Expected pay for this position is $17.87-$25.02. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. MDH benefits package includes: medical, dental, vision 457B and employer match for full-time employees. Company paid STD and LTD.

Job Summary: A Nurse Assistant is responsible with assisting in providing care for multiple types of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Job Specifications:

• Education and Experience: Required to have completed an approved nurse aide training program, passed the IL Certified Nurse Aide Exam, and be listed on the IL Nurse Aide Registry. Required to have a current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date. Required to have a current CPI certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire date.
• Job Knowledge: Is knowledgeable regarding policies and procedures, PPEs, universal precautions, duties during a disaster, and product safety information, all on-line/computer based learning. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required by the employee.
• Abilities, Interests and Temperaments: Verbal ability is needed to interpret and understand instructions and to communicate with other caregivers. Numerical ability is needed to correctly tally patient’s I O. Visual acuity is needed to assist and monitor patients. Ability to read and write is needed for documentation on patient records. Ability to adapt and follow directions in a composed manner during emergency situations. Empathy and consideration is needed to deal with patients and their family members.
