Pharmacy Technician Customer Support Representative

The Pharmacy Technician Customer Support Representative supports pharmacy operations by assisting patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams. This role handles inbound and outbound calls, helps coordinate medication refills and deliveries, and ensures pharmacy system information is accurate and up to date. The position is a strong fit for someone with customer service experience, clear communication skills, strong organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities include making outbound calls to address non-clinical inquiries, managing inbound and outbound calls related to medication deliveries and payments, responding to customer inquiries or routing calls to the appropriate team members for resolution, communicating professionally and respectfully when discussing health- or finance-related matters, processing medical claims and documenting notes regarding referral and patient status updates, using pharmacy management systems to assist with refill requests, prescription status updates, insurance verification, and invoice requests, answering questions during refill scheduling and transferring calls requiring clinical support to the appropriate healthcare team members, identifying and reporting adverse events and product complaints according to established procedures, performing accurate data entry related to prescriptions, claims, and patient information, assisting with prior authorization and insurance-related processes, delivering customer service in a call center environment through professional and effective communication, collaborating with pharmacy and healthcare staff to support patient care and operational workflows, and performing additional duties as assigned.

Required qualifications include pharmacy technician registration preferred, high school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred, and minimum of one year of call center experience, preferably in healthcare, pharmacy, or a medical office setting.

This position starts onsite in a specialty pharmacy and call center environment. Initial training takes place onsite from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. After training, the regular schedule is Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with occasional rotating Saturdays and a weekday off in exchange. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity based on meeting performance and attendance requirements. A hybrid schedule may be available after approximately 90120 days, based on performance and attendance. The role includes computer-based work, use of pharmacy management systems, and a focus on accuracy, quality, patient safety, and strong customer service.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, NC. The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
