Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.As a Control Systems Senior Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to develop electronic systems and software for Caterpillar’s Track-Type Tractors.What You Will Do:The individual hired for this position will work as part of an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test software features on embedded electronic controls for use in Track-Type Tractor machine applications.Creation of detailed software specs from high level customer requirementsElectronics and software support for prove design machine builds and testingTest plan development and software validationSupport and communication of software releases, including documentation required by field follow and/or customers for successfully updating software, wiring and componentsIdentification and resolution of software defects, and proper issue list submissions and managementWhat You Will Have:Embedded Systems: Knowledge of embedded systems and their applications; ability to develop embedded systems with varying levels of complexity to control the operations of the machine it is embedded within.Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.Top candidates will have: Typically, a candidate will have solid embedded systems experienceExperience with electronically controlled mechanical systemsElectrical components / systems experience.
