Java Kai Kapa'a is looking for Prep Cooks to join our team. We are a busy brunch cafe that puts the customer and quality first. We are professional but we also have fun. All the food at Java Kai is made from scratch and we take pride in doing things the right way. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in various professional kitchen environments. Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
• Complete daily checklist, keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to resupply.
• Assisting with ordering of produce and other kitchen supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling practices.
• Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a kitchen setting preferred.
• Strong culinary skills, including knife skills and meal preparation techniques preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
• Able to meet all scheduling commitments.
