Job Title: Travel RN - Trauma Stepdown Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Must-Have: - ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications - Great customer service skills Description: Position is for a Travel RN in a trauma stepdown unit. The unit features 25 beds and a team of 44 FTEs. The staffing structure includes a charge nurse, RNs, techs, and secretarial support. Patient ratios are 1:4, with a maximum of 1:5 for stepdown care. The unit utilizes EMR Meditech. There is no on-call requirement. Floating to stepdown service lines is required. Candidates with trauma or orthopedic experience are preferred. This unit cares for patients requiring acute surgical intervention or post-op care. Surgeons in this unit perform trauma, vascular, bariatric, general, urological, orthopedic, and neuro/spine surgeries. The patient population includes those with neurological diagnoses, chest pain, CHF, sepsis, and alcohol withdrawal. Candidates must be adaptable to a changing environment and be team players. Effective communication skills are essential. Routine practices include vitals every 4 hours and telemetry monitoring. This is a level 2 trauma center with a high volume of patients coming from the emergency department.
