Responsibilities for Registered Nurse (RN) Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and plan the shift’s services, programs and activities in collaboration with nursing staff and support personnel. Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning shift activities, admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required, and provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift. Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician. Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter‑departmental personnel to ensure nursing services and activities meet residents’ needs. Monitor assigned personnel to ensure adherence to safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
