Its focus is advocating and implementing integrated care model approach to underserved population undergoing behavioral health related issues.Location: Washington D.C.Environment/Physical Demands: Standard Office / Sit, stand, walk, lift 15 lbsPosition SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced clinical care to individuals receiving services in PHRI's substance use and behavioral health programs. The NP conducts evaluations, diagnoses, medication management, and ongoing care coordination under approved protocols and in collaboration with the medical and clinical team.Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive physical and psychiatric assessments to identify medical and behavioral health conditions.Diagnose client conditions and collaborate in developing individualized treatment plans that incorporate behavioral, physical, and social determinants of health.Prescribe psychotropic and general medications; monitor client progress and manage side effects or treatment adjustments as necessary.Provide crisis intervention and participate in safety planning with the interdisciplinary team.Review and authorize medication orders in accordance with federal and state law.Consult with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.Educate clients and families on medication use, treatment plans, wellness strategies, and health maintenance.Ensure accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and maintain up-to-date progress notes.Participate in case conferences, audits, and interdisciplinary team meetings.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, and 42 CFR Part 2.Contribute to the development and review of clinical policies and medical protocols.Provide supervision, mentorship, or guidance to nursing and support staff as assigned.Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement projects.Maintain current licensure, certifications, and required continuing education.Perform other duties as assigned.Experience and QualificationsCurrent and unencumbered Nurse Practitioner licensure in Washington, D.C.Board Certification in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) required.Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited academic institution.Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment settings.Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care principles, psychopharmacology, and co-occurring disorders.Experience with EMR systems (e.g., Credible, GAINS, LOCUS, or ICAMS) highly preferred.Current CPR/BLS certification.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary settings and with diverse populations.Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Outlook and other standard software applications.Legally authorized to work in the U.S.A.CompetenciesSimplify complex issues; breaking down big problems into smaller, manageable tasks, and identifying the key priorities that will have the biggest impact on the businessDelegate effectively; giving clear direction, setting expectations, and providing the necessary resources and support to help their teams succeedPredict future trends and challenges; staying up-to-date on industry developments, monitoring market trends, and seeking out new opportunities for growth and innovation.Systemize processes; identifying and eliminating inefficiencies, establishing clear workflows and procedures, and ensuring that everyone in the organization is aligned around the same goals.Structure organization for growth; defining clear roles and responsibilities, establishing a clear chain of command, and creating a culture of accountability and transparency.AAP/EEO StatementIt is the policy of Prestige Healthcare Resources, Inc. to provide equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
