Description
- Assess and evaluate patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized evaluations and nuanced observational methods.
- Craft tailored treatment strategies aimed at achieving both immediate and sustained improvements in communication, cognitive functionality, or swallowing capabilities.
- Deliver dedicated speech therapy tailored to each patient's unique needs, encompassing communication, language, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing professionals, physicians, family members, and caregivers to fabricate a seamless care plan.
- Provide education for patients and their families to foster ongoing progress outside of the clinical environment.
- Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a comprehensive approach to care throughout the journey.
- Document treatment plans accurately and professionally, aligning with local, federal, and organizational expectations.
- Stay abreast of evolving practices and insights in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Valid state license for functioning as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of commencement of employment.
- Expertise in contemporary, evidence-based therapy methods appropriate for all age groups, with a deep comprehension of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary care team.
- Adept at customizing therapy methods to address varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
