Empower Communication Across the Lifespan in the Vibrant City of Seattle - Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

Imagine a career where each day you hold the power to give voice to those in need. As a Speech Language Pathologist in Seattle, your role transcends mere treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you will facilitate growth, enhance confidence, and foster connections, from little ones discovering their first sounds to older adults striving for renewed independence.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to engage with a diverse population, providing care that combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient evaluation. If you have a passion for pediatric speech and language development, a knack for navigating adult neurogenic communication challenges, or a commitment to geriatric cognitive-linguistic recovery, you'll discover a rewarding journey with us.

Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning all ages, utilizing standardized assessments and clinical observations.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies poised to achieve both short-term milestones and long-term communication or swallowing improvements.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that emphasize communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Work collaboratively alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to design holistic care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on strategies to enhance progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Document patient progress and treatment plans promptly and in alignment with regulatory guidelines.
  • Remain attuned to industry developments through continual education opportunities and peer networking.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Skills
  • Strong grasp of evidence-based practices for all age groups, with comprehensive insight into developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility to adjust therapy techniques according to varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Keen clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and compliance documentation standards.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary that reflects your experience.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to promote a healthy work-life balance and diverse patient caseloads.
  • Opportunities to develop expertise in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday remuneration.
  • Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Support for ongoing education and professional development.
  • Collaborative work environment committed to quality care and lifelong learning.

A Career That Grows with You

In this role, you will not simply provide therapies; you will immerse yourself in a community-driven vision to rekindle voices, facilitate communication, and celebrate the beauty of human connection through understanding and expression.

Joining our team means working side by side with colleagues who treat one another like family, in an atmosphere that champions teamwork over competition. Every individual has a narrative; we trust you to help shape the story of each patient you encounter.

Why You Will Enjoy Living and Working in Seattle

Embrace the unique blend of urban life and natural beauty that Seattle offers. Surrounded by the stunning Puget Sound and the majestic Cascade Mountains, this city is a treasure trove for those yearning for a dynamic lifestyle that harmonizes nature with culture and career aspiration.

Experience a rich cultural tapestry where bustling markets, artisanal food scenes, and vibrant festivals abound. Families gather in local parks for farmer's markets and outdoor concerts, while culinary enthusiasts indulge in everything from fresh seafood at waterfront restaurants to craft coffee from the city's world-renowned cafes.

The artistic vibrancy of Seattle resonates through its murals, music venues, and cultural events that draw people together, creating a mosaic of diversity and creativity. Moreover, healthcare professionals benefit from a thriving job market and considerable opportunities for growth, complemented by the city's emphasis on sustainable living and community well-being.

If you are eager for professional growth within a supportive environment, this city provides the ideal backdrop to flourish in your career and life.

The Kind of Candidate We Seek

We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist who embodies both skill and compassion. This is someone who perceives the quiet struggles of a child and imagines endless possibilities for self-expression; a clinician who hears the hesitant speech of a stroke survivor and sees their unwavering resilience.

You might be focused on pediatric cases and want to expand your reach into adult patient care - or perhaps you specialize in neurorehabilitation, keen to incorporate early intervention techniques in your practice.

Regardless of your specialization, if your heart is driven by the desire to serve and uplift others, we invite you to apply and become a vital part of our team.

Let's Create Meaningful Connections - Together

If you believe that speech extends beyond mere words, and that therapy encompasses more than tasks, if you cherish the importance of trust-building and see joy in patient relationships, then this could very well be your next significant career chapter.

Join us in a close-knit community that values communication, connection, and the courage to begin anew. We invite you to apply today and help others find their voices while sharing yours with a dedicated team.
