Role Description The Staff Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Metairie, LA, supporting the financial operations of multiple hotel and vacation rental properties within NOLA HOTEL GROUP. Daily responsibilities include preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and assisting with monthly closings and financial statements. The role also involves processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, reviewing invoices and expense reports for accuracy, and supporting cash management and revenue reporting. The Staff Accountant will help monitor budgets, track variances, and provide financial data for management review, while ensuring compliance with company policies and basic accounting standards. Collaboration with property managers, leadership, and external partners is key to maintaining accurate records and supporting timely financial decision-making. Qualifications Strong foundational accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and understanding of GAAP. Experience with accounting software and office tools (e.g., QuickBooks or similar systems, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications). Ability to manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, payment processing, and revenue tracking. Skill in financial reporting and analysis, including assisting with month-end close, financial statements, and budget monitoring. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with property teams and management. Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
