Physical Therapist, Inpatient

Position Overview The Inpatient Rehabilitation department at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a full‑time physical therapist to join the team. The role focuses on evidence‑based, patient‑centered care with strong communication within a multidisciplinary team. The therapist works with patients recovering from traumatic and acquired brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, amputations, multi‑trauma accidents, cardiopulmonary interventions, oncologic diagnoses, and various orthopedic and neurologic conditions. Pay range: $38.20 – $57.30 per hour. Hours per week: 40. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with rotating weekend coverage. Responsibilities Provides patient care assessment and treatment. Ensures patient evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional and according to the Standard of Practice. Provides sound professional judgment in interpreting evaluation results and establishing an acceptable treatment plan with realistic goals. Maintains accurate patient documentation. Completes written patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy. Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient/family education, charges and departmental statistics, and relevant diagnostic codes as appropriate. Meets department financial and productivity standards, understanding budgeted expectations and adjusting individual schedules accordingly. Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services, identifying quality and operational opportunities. Promotes professional development and education of other health care workers, providing representation on committees and conducting in‑service training programs. Supervises physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students to develop their clinical skills and ensure the delivery of quality patient care. Communicates professionally and promptly with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers. Provides appropriate patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines, demonstrating age‑specific knowledge, skills, and abilities. Adheres to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment through effective communication, interpersonal relationships, and team building. Qualifications Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure; active membership in APTA encouraged but not required. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physical therapy school. CPR certification required every two years. Benefits & Highlights Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina. Full‑time position.
