Assistant/Associate Professor-in-Residence, Athletic Training The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor-in-Residence (non-tenure track) on a 9-month appointment in the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences (KNS). The primary appointment is to the CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program where the core faculty member will teach graduate-level courses and provide clinical instruction. Primary Responsibilities Instruction: Teach a variety of graduate-level athletic training courses consistent with areas of contemporary expertise. Clinical Leadership: Direct student clinical progression and maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence through regular site evaluations and preceptor engagement. Mentorship & Service: Provide academic advising, mentor students toward professional mastery, and participate in departmental and university committees. Collaboration: Work effectively within a school that serves diverse majors and functions as an integral part of the university’s general education curriculum. Additional summer teaching is available for additional compensation. Minimum Qualifications – Assistant Professor PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field. Minimum of two years university-level instructional experience plus scholarly and service record appropriate for the rank. Professional credentials: Current certification in good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC), a valid NPI number, and possession or eligibility for a state athletic training credential in good standing. Demonstrated contemporary expertise in athletic training and a history of previous clinical practice. Proven ability to provide oversight for clinical education, including administrative and pedagogical skills to direct student clinical progression and preceptor development. Minimum Qualifications – Associate Professor PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field. Minimum of six years university-level instructional experience plus scholarly and service record appropriate for the rank. Professional credentials: Current certification with the BOC, valid NPI number, and possession or eligibility for a state athletic training credential in good standing. Demonstrated contemporary expertise in athletic training and a history of previous clinical practice. Proven ability to provide oversight for clinical education, including administrative and pedagogical skills to direct student clinical progression and preceptor development. Preferred Qualifications Previous full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities. Previous core faculty experience serving as program director or director of clinical education. Direct experience with CAATE accreditation processes (self-studies, annual reporting, site visit preparation).
