About Our School Marklund Day School is a non‑public, state‑certified school that partners with area school districts to provide a highly specialized education experience. The therapeutic, sensory‑driven Multi‑Needs Program serves individuals ages 3 through 21 with medical, developmental, and physical disabilities. Through the Life Skills Program, teachers and paraprofessionals provide individualized functional curriculum and supports for students diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, with specific learning disabilities, and developmental disabilities. Summary of Duties Assist teachers with classwork and the daily care of students with special needs. Provide direct care, attend in‑services and other educational functions as required. Keep equipment in the classroom clean and maintain a safe physical environment for all students. Document all goals/programs, including daily participation records after completion of a task with a student. Work directly with the students one‑on‑one and in groups outlined in the IEPs. Must successfully pass PCM (behavior management) training. Qualifications Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license is required. The license can be obtained after being hired within 30 days, and a $500 bonus will be offered for obtaining it. Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and meet its functional and environmental requirements.
