HR Assistant

Employment type : Contract to Hire

Location : 100% onsite near Bellwood IL

Hours : Monday - Friday, standard business hours

Pay rate : $24-26/hour

Join our team as an HR Assistant, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while delivering an exceptional employee and candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruiting activities, including resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
• Preparing offer letters and coordinating pre-employment requirements in ATS tools
• Attending job fairs, hiring events and community outreach activities for TA
• Support onboarding, background checks, new hire paperwork, and employee records management.
• Maintain HRIS and ATS data while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations. Provide administrative support for union and non-union employees, including required postings and documentation, new hire materials and records.
• Provide administrative support for HR operations, employee lifecycle activities, and labor relations documentation.
• Assist with HR communications, reporting, and employee support.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR experience
• Experience supporting recruiting and onboarding preferred.
• Familiarity with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

Preferred: Associate's degree in HR, Business, or related field and/or HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP).

Pay Details: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
