Job Description Job Description Server (Waitstaff) - Roles & Responsibilities 1. Guest Service * Greet guests warmly within 1-2 minutes of seating * Present menu and explain specials clearly * Answer questions about dishes (ingredients, spice level, allergens) * Provide attentive, friendly, and respectful service at all times 2. Order Taking * Take accurate food and beverage orders * Enter orders correctly into POS system * Confirm special requests and dietary needs 3. Food & Beverage Service * Serve food and drinks promptly and correctly * Ensure presentation meets restaurant standards * Check back with guests after serving (quality check) 4. Table Management * Maintain clean, organized tables at all times * Clear used dishes promptly * Reset tables quickly for next guests 5. Guest Experience * Anticipate guest needs (refills, extra items, etc.) * Handle complaints calmly and professionally * Inform manager if any issue cannot be resolved 6. Billing & Payments * Present accurate bills * Process payments (cash/card) correctly * Thank guests and invite them to return 7. Teamwork * Support fellow staff during busy hours * Communicate clearly with kitchen and management * Help maintain smooth service flow 8. Cleanliness & Hygiene * Follow all hygiene and food safety standards * Keep service stations clean and stocked * Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards 9.
