Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will assemble precision mechanical products by following engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and quality standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical products, subassemblies, and finished assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, bills of material, assembly procedures, and quality documentation.
• Perform quality inspections, functional testing, and documentation throughout the assembly process.
• Troubleshoot and rework non-conforming products using sound problem-solving techniques.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, dial indicators, and other inspection tools.
• Ensure all tools and measuring equipment are properly calibrated before use and report any discrepancies.
• Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and procedures.
• Identify safety concerns and assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, and other departmental projects.
• Assist in training new team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of experience assembling precision mechanical equipment or similar products.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, specifications, bills of material, and quality documents.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent manual dexterity.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and dial indicators.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Technical or trade school education in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial technology.
• Two or more years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift).
• Frequent use of hands for detailed assembly work.
• Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting.
• Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

• Temperature-controlled manufacturing facility.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.
• Exposure to moving machinery, machining oils, coolants, graphite dust, compressed air systems, and other industrial materials within OSHA exposure limits.
• Work involves precision assembly processes, including the use of regulated compressed air and high-pressure testing equipment.
