Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant in our cardiology department, you will work in a fast-paced hospital environment that values teamwork and ongoing education. Your hours will typically be Monday to Friday from 5:00 PM, within a 40-hour work week, providing a structured yet dynamic work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations for patients presenting with cardiovascular symptoms, ensuring thorough assessments and attention to detail.
• Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests, including blood tests, EKGs, and imaging studies, to diagnose cardiac conditions accurately.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for a variety of cardiac health issues, considering both immediate and long-term patient needs.
• Prescribe medications and adjust treatment regimens based on patient response, closely monitoring efficacy and side effects.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and scheduling systems, ensuring compliance with health regulations and effective communication among healthcare teams.
• Provide clear and empathetic explanations of diagnoses and treatments to patients and their families, fostering a trusting caregiver-patient relationship.
• Educate patients about cardiovascular health, prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications to enhance their well-being.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient outcomes.
• Engage in continued professional development through research, attending workshops, and acquiring new certifications relevant to cardiology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Current Texas State Physician Assistant license (PA-C) and DEA number.

Compensation and Benefits
