Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Start: ASAP
• Pay Rate: $35.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 3x12 — 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM; Every Other Weekend required; Every other holiday, if needed
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Key Responsibilities

• Must be able to take own patient assignment, with the support of an RN
• Vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring, isolation precautions, physical restraints, specimen labeling, oxygen administration via nasal cannula, feeding tube management, telemetry monitoring, 12-lead EKG
• Medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops), IV therapy with pumps, blood glucose monitoring
• Wound care basics (simple dressings, JP/Hemovac drains), bathing and mouth care, Foley catheter insertion (male/female), clean catch urine collection, communication of status changes to RN/MD, MS/Tele care setting
• Will be required to float within skillset

Education Requirements

• Active New York Single State LPN license required (NY is not Compact; pending license not accepted)
• BLS certification required

Required Experience

• Acute Care experience within the last 2 years

Required Skills

• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to manage own patient assignment with RN support
• Proficiency in vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring, and isolation precautions
• Physical restraints, specimen labeling, oxygen administration via nasal cannula
• Feeding tube management and telemetry monitoring
• 12-lead EKG
• Medication administration: oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops
• IV therapy with pumps and blood glucose monitoring
• Wound care basics: simple dressings, JP/Hemovac drains
• Bathing and mouth care, Foley catheter insertion (male/female), clean catch urine collection

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Unit: Medical Surgical (5400/5500) — medical patients including COPD exacerbation, infections, failure to thrive, social issues
• Patient ratio: 1:5–6 (Days)
• Float requirement: Will be required to float within skillset
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy blue and white
• Call off policy: The client may cancel (call off) up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges for the canceled hours
• RTO/Block & Special Scheduling Requests: Must submit requests upon submission
• Accept first-time travelers: Yes
• Locals accepted for LPNs at reduced rate

Important Notes

• Pending LPN license is NOT accepted — must have an active New York Single State LPN license at time of submission
• NY is not a Compact state
• Must submit RTO/block scheduling requests upon submission
