Quality Control Tech Full Time Technical New Carlisle, IN, US Position Overview This full-time, non-exempt position is based in New Carlisle, IN and reports to the Quality Control Manager. This individual is responsible for testing bare and painted coils for conformance to established quality parameters. This role requires independent judgment and real-time decision-making to maintain product quality during production. The Quality Control Technician is expected to understand specification requirements and take appropriate action to ensure all materials remain within acceptable standards. This is a position with working hours of 04:00 am/pm - 04:00 am/pm, and is on a 2-2-3 schedule. As a member of EDCOAT, LLC’s production team, the Quality Control Technician will be accountable for complying with all applicable company standards and government regulations. Success will be defined by the employee’s ability to ensure the quality and consistency of paint and metal used in the coil coating process. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency required Previous manufacturing experience required. Physical Demands The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Requires extended periods of walking and standing on concrete surfaces, occasional stooping, bending, or sitting, and the extensive use of hands to manipulate or regulate quality control equipment to ensure product meets customer specifications. The Quality Control Technician position requires the ability to manually lift 50 pounds from floor to waist level and to manually push/pull 50 pounds. Quality Control Technicians are scheduled to work 12 hour shifts weekly with occasional extension of regular working hours as necessary to meet production deadlines and exceed customer expectations. Extreme caution must be exercised when working around rotating machinery or metal strip. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be worn as needed in compliance with Edcoat, LLC’s standards and/or government regulations.
