Overview The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in all facets of the swimming and diving program, including training, recruitment, travel logistics, compliance, and scholar‑athlete development. Responsibilities Assist in developing and implementing training and instruction for practices and competitions. Organize and conduct team training and practices. Recruit and retain academically qualified student‑athletes. Handle administrative aspects of the sports program, including paperwork, travel logistics, practice plans, and compliance. Collaborate with CMS athletics staff in sports medicine, business operations, compliance, equipment, facilities, and events. Ensure compliance with NCAA Division III, CMS Athletics, and SCIAC rules and guidelines. Maintain required training and certifications (e.g., concussion management, mental health resources, sexual violence prevention). Represent CMS Athletic Department positively within the SCIAC and regionally and nationally. Attend practices and events regularly; maintain good attendance record. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous collegiate participation and coaching experience preferred. Experience recruiting academically focused scholar‑athletes preferred. Valid driver’s license; ability to drive College‑owned vehicles and be insured under the College’s authorized driver’s policy. Strong administrative, interpersonal, and computer/technology skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic professional software. Knowledge of NCAA Division III, CMS Athletics, and SCIAC regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational and time‑management skills. Willingness to obtain certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED if required. Employment Details This is a temporary, part‑time, non‑exempt position.
