About the Role:The Energy Group is seeking a Houston-based, qualified, motivated investment banking Associate. Prior investment banking or similar professional experience within the upstream, midstream, downstream and/or energy infrastructure industry is required; some technical upstream or midstream and LNG experience is required.As a cross-product industry team, Associates in the Oil & Gas and Energy Infrastructure Group work on a variety of transactions, including M&A, A&D, corporate valuation, board advisory and capital raises. Associates typically function as members of deal teams comprising a Managing Director, Director - Vice President and Financial Analyst, plus technical professionals.Associates are assigned to a variety of projects and are given a broad range of responsibilities, some of which include:Conduct extensive quantitative economic, industry and company research and analysisConduct and model a broad range of corporate finance alternatives and due diligence for client transactions including M&A, strategic alternatives, capital structure development and acquisition financeEvaluate risk/return parameters of transactionsFinancial modeling, valuation, comparable & relative value analyses and market-specific analysisFacilitate and coordinate product group idea generation and solutions development across a broad platform of global capabilitiesDraft client pitches and marketing materials including M&A, , public/private debt & equity capital markets, and other internal documentation by coordinating internal and external resourcesAssist in financing structuring, underwriting transaction evaluation, preparation, due diligence and executionAssist in the development and continued cultivation of client relationshipsAssist in the development and teaching of Analysts within the Energy GroupQualifications:Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or EconomicsAt least three years of prior investment banking or similar professional experience focused on the oil and gas industry is required; some upstream, midstream and infrastructure technical experience is requiredKnowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets and risk & pricing analysisAptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative ideas and/or product solutionsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlinesStrong written and oral communication skills and ability to convey ideasCreativity and intellectual curiosityAbility to work independently and must be able to work effectively in a team environmentAdvanced proficiency with FactSet, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, Microsoft OfficeSeries 79 & 63The expected base salary ranges from $175K - $225k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
