This is a full-time, day position. Responsibilities Participate in the coordination of patient care throughout the Transplant and Cell Therapy process, including ongoing assessment and evaluation of patients preparing for and undergoing Blood and Marrow Transplant or Immune Effector Cell therapy Follow all BMT and IEC patients post‑transplant for survival and related post‑transplant toxicities and needs Screen and educate potential and actual donors Engage daily with patients, families/caregivers, and interdisciplinary team to provide and facilitate care Communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure successful continuum of care Utilize knowledge of transplant/cellular therapy contract requirements within the interdisciplinary team to help ensure contract compliance Coordinate and promote the clinical activities of BMT and IEC therapies Document care thoroughly in the medical record Provide patient status reports to community and referring physicians and third‑party payors Collaborate in development and update of protocols and guidelines for clinical program policy and procedures Participate in all transplant and IEC related meetings Organize comprehensive searches for unrelated stem cell products utilizing the National Marrow Donor Program and other databases, as well as international cooperative registries Provide education to patients and families regarding the processes and procedures involved in donor search Demonstrate consistent knowledge of and compliance with FACT, CIBMTR, NMDP, IRB and other applicable regulatory standards Complete and maintain required training related to any participation‑specific regulatory requirements for BMT and IEC therapy Complete paper or electronic data reporting forms for CIMBMTR and NMDP in a timely manner Participate in teaching activities for intra‑disciplinary team members, nurses, students and community professional groups and referring practices Organize and participate in transplant and IEC education, including formal patient pre‑transplant classes Assure appropriate orientation and training for new transplant coordinators Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge and adhere to policies and procedures set forth by RWJBH, Rutgers Cancer Institute, and all relevant regulatory agencies Maintain logs or data tracking as requested Demonstrate clear understanding of importance of patient satisfaction through experience and safety Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher Experience: Transplant and Cell Therapy experience preferred Certification: Successfully obtain Bone Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN) certification within one year of start date; maintain BMTCN Certification Additional Skills Strong written and oral communication skills Attention to accuracy and detail, including demonstrating integrity in all work Ability to work independently in a team environment Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and work under pressure Create and promote an environment of teamwork Perform all other duties as assigned Legal Notice RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer #J-18808-Ljbffr Morris Cancer Center
