Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring CA RN licensure and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
Patient ratio of 1:2
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

Active CA RN license required
Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
MAB Training required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Epic charting experience required
Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
Experience with cardiac drip titration and vasoactive drip titration
Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Experience with CVA/acute stroke management
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

Provide comprehensive nursing care across the full nursing process for ICU patients of varying ages, cultures, and conditions
Demonstrate leadership on the unit and participate in multidisciplinary patient care conferences
Serve as a patient advocate and collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday allowed off per contract
Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
7-year work history verification required for all candidates
Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
Returning staff must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment
