Quantum Error Correction Software Engineer

Job Details Job Description: The candidate will be joining the Quantum System Architecture & Software team in the Intel Quantum Computing program. Chief Duties Of This Position Include Leads the creation, implementation, and optimization of software codes specifically for Intel quantum hardware constraints. Lead the research and development of quantum error correction protocols for fully fault tolerant quantum computing systems. Explore the performance of technology alternatives, collaborating with algorithm and application researchers, software engineers and hardware engineers to explore hardware/software trade-offs in the implementation of quantum error correcting codes. Collaborate closely with both quantum computing hardware and software teams Qualifications Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field (plus 1+ years experience). Experience in designing quantum error correction protocols (1+ years). Demonstrated ability to deliver significant results in a multidisciplinary environment. Preferred Qualifications Quantum computing industrial experience (1+ years). Experience researching and developing QEC codes for specific hardware constraints. Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $149,600.00 - 284,580.00 USD The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Work Model for this Role This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
