Architectural Associate 3 / Design Staff 1

We are looking for a mid-level architectural designer/detailer with 4+years experience.

We are looking for a designer/detailer to join our architectural practice. We offer the opportunity for you to express your ability to design, collaborate, and construct.

Scott + Partners is a 11-person architecture firm, and we need a creative thinker/detail tinkerer to join our design and construction document teams in the next few weeks.

We focus on commercial, health care, educational, and multi-family projects. We work in small two- or three-person project teams and offer you the ability to take on problem-solving responsibility. We value a collaborative design process and recognize good ideas come from everyone. We value human experience in and around buildings and addressing energy and carbon use. We like working with people and understand they are the center point of successful projects.

We need someone who wants to help develop design concepts and create drawings that tell the design story to clients and the construction details to contractors. Experience on the construction site and in the office is required.

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Anticipated starting range is $70K - $85K annually. Annual benefits include medical insurance, HRA account, vision, dental, simple IRA, 3 weeks vacation, 6 federal holidays, 5 flex days, as well as AIA and NCARB dues.

Expectations:
Full-time in-person employment with some remote work allowed.
Comfortable working under the direction of others.

‍Responsibilities:
Planning/design/ and coordination with the design team (including consultants).
Development and presentation of conceptual and technical designs to project leads.
Investigation, evaluation, and recommendations of design solutions
Site visits to collect existing conditions.
Sketching and modeling to develop design and construction drawings.
Contacting manufacturers, sales reps, vendors for pertinent product data and confirming product appropriateness for project.
Tracking design and documentation work through to completion.
Coordinating drawings and specifications.
QA/QC of your work to office standards.
Assisting with addenda during bidding.
Assisting with CA phase work.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
A portfolio of completed designs.
4+ years Previous office experience.

This position will require interfacing with representatives from all aspects of the design and construction field on a regular basis, so we need someone who is comfortable with this work.

Pay Range: $70,000-$85,000
